What this place is, what it isn't, and who keeps the lights on.

Monarch & Co. exists for one reason: to provide a calm, well-designed environment in which to enjoy three classical table games without risking anything more than your time.

What we are

  • A social gaming website. Three games, played in your browser, with chips that have no monetary value.
  • A small operation, independently owned and not affiliated with any real-money casino, sportsbook, or wagering platform.
  • A place that tries to take design and language seriously — because nobody owes you the dignity of well-set type, but it's nicer when somebody does.

What we are not

  • A casino. There is no money on the tables.
  • A sweepstakes promoter. Nothing here can be converted into a prize.
  • An affiliate front-end. We do not redirect you to other operators.
  • A site that collects your data. We do not maintain accounts; your progress lives in your browser.

How we keep the lights on

This is fair to ask. Running even a small site has costs — hosting, domain, occasional improvements. Currently we underwrite those costs out of pocket, while exploring two modest, transparent revenue streams: (i) a future "supporter" tier that grants cosmetic upgrades only — never gameplay advantage, never additional chips, never anything the standard play does not include; and (ii) tasteful, clearly-labelled advertising for products that align with the establishment (books, fine games, art prints). Neither will ever involve the sale of virtual chips, nor partnerships with real-money gambling operators.

Where the design came from

The visual language draws from 1920s gentleman's clubs, the editorial layouts of The Strand and Harper's Weekly, and the geometric vocabulary of art deco — Cassandre's posters, the rebuilt interiors of the Normandie. The typography pairs Cinzel for display with EB Garamond for body text, both available freely under the SIL Open Font Licence.

A note on what we don't do

We will never:

  • Pump fake counters showing thousands of imaginary players online.
  • Use a cookie banner that pretends to give choice while doing nothing.
  • Write a privacy policy that misrepresents our actual practice.
  • Sell, give away, lose, or "accidentally leak" your data — because we don't collect it.
